Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) is an active safety system designed to apply the brakes to reduce the severity of an impact with a forward vehicle. Using the forward-facing camera found behind the rear view mirror, the system operates by continuously scanning the road ahead between the speeds of 3 and 50MPH. If the system detects an imminent risk of a forward collision, it is designed to audibly and visually alert the driver and if necessary automatically apply the brakes.

New for 17MY, Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Sensing* builds upon the AEB system by scanning the road for pedestrians between the speeds of 3 and 37MPH.  Similar to the design of AEB, if an imminent risk of a forward collision is detected, the  system is designed to audibly and visually alert the driver and if necessary automatically apply the brakes.  AEB with Pedestrian Sensing is available on 17MY F-PACE and standard on Range Rover Sport/ Range Rover.

These advanced driver assistance features, along with many others are a competitive advantage to Jaguar and Land Rover products.

*These systems are not a substitute for driving safely with due care and attention and will not function under all circumstances, speeds, weather and road conditions, etc. Driver should not assume that these systems will correct errors of judgment in driving.
